I have a Schweiss Bi-fold Hangar Door Model # C184C17NC3B and I would like to know if there is a mechanical override in the event I have a power loss. Thanks, Terry H.
We have several bi-fold doors around our facility, with openings at 20 ft and 25 ft high. What is the maximum height these doors can open to for these openings? Thanks, Kevin H.
Could you send me the specifications for the power consumption between the one-piece hydraulic and lift-strap bifold hangar doors 40' wide x 18' tall. I am in the process of constructing a hangar and since they are considered commercial buildings they have demand meters from the utility company for billing. I would like to know the current each style door operator consumes including in-rush current, and any estimates that I can forward to the power company. Thank you, Bob H.
I want to see the specs for your lift-strap bi-fold doors to replace existing doors on a hangar rehab project I am designing. The doors are 43' wide and 48' wide by 14.5' tall. Where can I get the electrical requirements for the operators? I need to verify existing electrical conditions and specify new electrical components to accommodate the new doors.
I am requesting information regarding the 17" bottom rubber seal for the bifold door. Please let us know the dimensions of the seal itself. We are looking for a bottom rubber seal that has a 2-1/4" distance from the bolt holes above the seal to the bottom of the seal that meets the floor (or if you have the specs on hand in a brochure or pdf). This is for a future purchase. Also, is there any way to get a much longer seal than 17"? Thank You, Mark E.
I am looking for two lift-strap bi-fold doors: one that is 12' wide by 14' high and one that is 18' wide by 16' high. I am also curious about the door specs, how many volts and amperage the door needs to operate?
Good morning, I'm working on a few layouts for different potential aircraft hanger designs, and had a few quick questions about the door specs: 1) What is the maximum width of a one-piece hydraulic door you can provide? 2) How much extra room on either side of the hydraulic door is required? I look forward to hearing from you! Thanks, James
Can you please let me know what is the maximum width available for vertical bi folding and hydraulic doors. I have an opening of 23M W x 12 M H. Regards, Sasha
Hi, I'm an architect working on a design for a fire and police station in Texas. Do you know if the bifold door has been used in a fire department as the overhead door for the fire trucks? How fast do the doors open and close? Could the door be wired to the fire alarm system and automatically open when the fire department receives a call? Thanks
This is to be a refinement of bid #111407-RG. We have reverted to a Schweiss bifold liftstrap door concept and have finally drilled down to sizes and end dimensions. The building is partially completed with concrete side walls half way up at the door end. We will want a stainless steel side rails to bolt to the front of the concrete wall end and to the steel 6X6 tubes on top of the wall up to the roof support beam the door will hang on. The door needs to be designed for 140 mph wind. We want man doors on both the left and right sides. We want a center latch on the bottom and side latches on both the left and right sides, but with a concrete wall up to 7'- 10" on either side that will require some thinking as we want the full opening width to be clear below 8'. Thus the side latches pretty much have to be above 8'. We want to maximize clear opening height, and would prefer that to be at 11'- 10" above the floor if that is practical. The door parts need to fit into a 40' container or a 40' hi-cube container.
On the bifold door I would like to remove operator, shaft line, and the strap drums off the door and mount to the ceiling. There is a I-beam on the inside of the opening to mount to. Please send me any helpful advice. I can send pics. Thanks a lot Mike

I contacted you earlier about a 40' bifode door and told you that it would be for a 12' clearance opening and requested a quote. The door size is still 40' wide but I have now decided that I will have a 14'tall clearance. How tall will the door height need to be? I would like a quote and some installation instructions so I will know how you recomend fastening the door to the end trusses. I purchased a 40'X12' Schweiss door from you around 2001, and love it, I placed the door on the lower side of the end truss but don't think that this will work because the celing or bottom of trusses will only be 14' tall. Thanking you in advance.
Hi. About a month ago one of my clients sent the requirements for a Schweiss bifold door, so you could send him the preliminary specifications. The original door was going to be 23.80m wide, 5.56m high. But with the final modifications, the door ended up being 23.88m. Just about 3 inches more. Does it make any considerable difference in weight, hinges, lifts...??? WE've already calculated the structure that's holding the door, so we need to know if any modifications need to be made in case the general specifications of the door have changed. Thankyou in advance.
I am working on a project that your company is supplying the door for. The project is #19148. I am a draftsman with a steel company that was hired to clad the bifold door in copper. I am seeking .DWG files for this particular door pertaining to #19148. I am not sure what program you use to design your doors nut any file other than a .PDF that I could take exact dimensions off of would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

We are an architectural firm in the Miami area. We are interested in using several of the Schweiss bifold doors in a residential application. Before we deal with details our first concern is whether your product has a Miami-Dade N.O.A. Thanks in advance and a prompt reply will be greatly appreciated. Oscar

We used a schweiss door on one of our abrasive blasting facilities under a gvt contract. And the door works flawlessly. The contract required electronic copies of our manuals. Since your manuals are included with our facility manual, we need to provide electronic copies of your manuals. I looked for these manuals on your website but could not find them. Please e-mail to me electronic copies of the following three manuals. I'm interested in a door quote for my machine shop the opening is 20 feet wide and about 13 feet high. I would like to make the opening on the south side taller about 15 feet and possibility wider the building is 40 feet wide and 60 feet long. I had a carpenter look at the opening, he said with the rafters i have the opening could be made taller with a bi-fold or hydro door, i would be interested in making it wider but i would not want to sacrifice the strength of the building if I was to make it wider, so the taller door would be more important to me than the width.I'm interested in finding out how much your door would cost me with installation. Thank you for your response. charles

Once the door installation is complete, we will then cut, frame, and flash the existing building to the new door.

Hello; I am a structural engineer working on a project where the Architect will be specifying your product for the front of the building across a few bays. Though the final design will be modified to incorporate actual design loads after the final product is selected and the calculations are submitted, I need to provide framing for the doors for a preliminary set. Can you give me guidelines on what reactions I need to design to handle? I am expecting a 22'-2" wide door, approximately 12' high bi-fold door made of glass. I am appreciative of any help you can provide. Thanks
Attached are the drawings and specifications for the Railroad Park East Gate 50% redesign drawings we discussed on the phone. Please review and provide budget bifold door pricing by Wednesday @2PM. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the number below. See sheet A2.1 for a typical elevation of the OH doors. Thanks for your help.
Attached are the bifold door specs. And some pictures of the opening ready for the door. Also one photo of the last door installed you provided. The opening is the same as the last one. I did take some measurements of the existing door. And have the siding on hand as to that size. The door is 48'-1 3/4" in width not counting the rollers. The new one could be 1" wider. Making it 48'-2 3/4" The height of each half is 95 1/2" not including the hinges. I have prepared the new opening to match the last door at the header. As per the hinge height. I have 5 1/2" above the bottom of the header truss to hang the door. Since we talked last week I did look at the automatic door latches on your web site. I would like to figure them in. Would you send me a new quote and time frame. Thanks
The quantity for the requested bifold door quote should be for one 8 ft High x 14 ft Wide door. Is there an installation close to the DC area, the client wishes to see an installation and function. The drawings do not indicate operation of door are there winches, pulleys, and motor location. the opening is an extension of concrete walls hence concrete jambs, overhead is a LVL structural beam 10" vert. x 18" horz. and with steel angles at its bottom edges, the gateway into the court yard.
Please see attached for more additional questions that we have about the bifold doors. I have also includeda CAD drawing. Order Number 16684 Bid Number 52809-HB for Heartland Builders. I have a question regarding the location of the bifold door side column. If the post is located 1/2(flange width) from the opening (7"/2 = 3.5"), the bolt for the upper hinge would interfere with the web with the bolt shown at 3".
