Please text or email me because I have recently had throat surgery and cannot speak yet. I am building a small hangar for my helicopter and need either a bifold or hydraulic one piece helicopter hangar door. The cost may be a determining factor so I need to know the approximate cost of each for the same size door. My main rotor is just under 30 ft in diameter so this will determine the width of the door and the height is under 10 ft. so that will determine the minimum height. I could wiggle it in if it makes a big diffence in the price therefore a 21 ft wide door could work too. So Price both for clear 10 ft high and 21 ft. wide and 30 ft. wide. Hello, I spoke with a representative at OshKosh about your bi-fold strap door. I was looking at building a helicopter hanger, but am now thinking about installing a 40x14 door on an existing building and using it as the hanger. The existing building is a steel 60x60. If I install one of your doors will I need to do structural changes to the end wall with an opening for the door or is the framing of your door designed with a header to support the opening? Our client is building a new helicopter hanger and has gotten a quote for one of your doors and will be installing it when the building is up. We are performing a lateral analysis on the building per the building inspectors request. I need to know  information about when the door can be open below certain wind speeds. Are your doors designed to resist wind loading applied from the roof diaphragm? Meaning when the door is closed and pins locked is the door effectively designed as a shear wall? Do you have any literature of technical data on this if so? Thanks for your help.

We built a new hangar for our EMS helicopter and Schweiss bi-fold doors were installed. We have to hold the buttons down to operate it in either the up or down position (dead man switch). We have the electric photo eye sensors installed already. I was wondering if a remote opening system would be available and how much it would cost. I have limited budget as Base Aviation Manager, but if it's reasonable, I could purchase on my own without corporate approval. Great doors by the way!

Google is a wonderful thing. It led me to your door site today. We are at the design stage to build a new emergency service rescue helicopter hanger, either 100 X 100, or 100 X 80. Likely a steel frame. I've looked at Schweiss Door website photos, am totally impressed. Looking at several bifold scenarios. 1. End hangar door - 20 ft high by 60 ft / 70ft wide or 2 X 40 ft. If the post can slide off to the side providing a full 80 ft space 2. End door and side door - side 20 ft high X 40 ft wide. Bifold door  will likely win out over hydraulic door as having the door sticking out means pushing the helicopters back into the helipad area in order to close the door. Shipping cost, if unable to come to Canada, could arrange to terminal in Sumas, WA. Ready for door soon. How does the door covering work, a glass paned door is an awesome thought over a metal skin door with port hole windows. Also interested in keyed cylinder lock pedestrian doors.

Also need a 50 x 18 steel door  on the other end. There shouldn't be any concern over putting a 75 ft. steel door on this big building, should there?

I would like a quote on a 70,75, and 80 wide door. They previously decided to go with the 70 door due to the cost, but the chopper rotor blade width is over 69 feet. They would prefer to go with the 80' door if we can keep the cost down. This will be one of a total of 4 doors. I installed the auto latch strap system and they really like this system. This is a 9 y/o hangar located near Billings, MT. The hangar was built for large openings). The hangar is 100' X 80' and the door is 70' X aprox 26'. I am a structural engineer working on a project for the Kentucky Army National Guard which includes a six-bay storage building for Blackhawk helicopters. At this point in the project's design phase, I am looking for dimensional information for a bi-fold door. The building will be a pre-engineered metal building and I need to know how tall the building needs to be in order to accomodate the wedge dimension of the door above the clear opening height.
