Why use a freestanding header?

It's a custom-built, self-supporting header frame, which gives the buyer/builder
tremendous flexibility. In essence, it lets the customer fit the hydraulic door to an existing
building without revamping the supporting structure of the building.

• It's a nice way to prepare or retrofit an existing building for a Schweiss door.
• It provides a clean, flat, flush surface to attach your Schweiss door.
• The freestanding header offers extra strength.
• It provides a nice straight and level place to attach your door to, especially on older buildings.
• It's a trade-off. You would have to build a header up to your existing endwall and that's not free (labor and material).
• Freestanding headers are made out of 4x4 11ga. tubes (two across the full width, two legs, and base plates).
